Bachelor Party Rules

Were you just made best man for your friend’s wedding? If you have, this means that you have a few things to think about, including his upcoming bachelor party. Thankfully, planning a Miami bachelor party can be an easy task if you follow a few solid rules.

1.  The Best Man Plans Everything

The most important thing to remember when it comes to planning a bachelor party is that the groom doesn’t actually do the heavy lifting in planning–the best man does. That means that if you were given the great honor of being the best man, you are in charge of making sure everything goes well. As the best man, you will make sure that venues are booked, guests are invited, accommodations are paid for, and everything else is in place for a great time.

2. Everyone Else Pays

As the best man, your job is also to make sure that you get everyone to chip in for the groom’s expenses. If you’re staying at a hotel, you gather funds from everyone attending the bachelor party to pay for the groom’s room. If you’re going out to a restaurant, everyone pays for his meal. The basic rule is the costs of all his expenses are split evenly between all the guests. However, you may want to adjust this rule depending on the financial situation of some of the guests.

3. Let the Groom Pick the Guests

It’s tempting as the host of the party to pick the guests yourself. However, it isn’t actually your party. Because it is the groom’s night, you want to make sure that all the people that he wants are there. Make sure to talk to him about who he wants present for the party and get a list going so you can keep track of everyone.

4. Transportation is Key

A bachelor party is a special night. The last thing that anyone wants to worry about is who is going to be the designated driver. Even just calling for a ride-sharing service while you’re enjoying yourself can be a hassle. The best route to take is to hire a service beforehand or rent a car that can transport you and everyone else to pre-determined locations. This way, you don’t have to do any thinking or planning the night of the party.

5. Keep the Party Going

Everyone gets tired at different times. It can be so easy to call it a night when the day has started to wear on you or when you see the excitement dying down. However, the groom should make that decision. If the groom says he wants another round, the guests should be ready to buy another round. If the groom is an early bird, be prepared to head home early. Be sure to keep an eye on his mood to pace the night properly.
